What's up guys, salut, this is Kabby.

This time I'm not here to suggest a complex system or anything, this time it's fairly straight forward.

As you can see from the title, I'm here to talk about build slots. Now, this doesn't need to be anything that special, just a way to save your favorite builds. This would be per character.

Simply to save a build, you'd go into a menu or to an NPC in a major city (whichever seems better) and click on an empty build slot. There you would have a few options like saving the current build, copy from another build, build icon, etc.

Then after the build has been saved it will be shown in your build menu with the name and icon in place so you can remember which build is which. You could then edit existing builds by clicking on it. There you would have options like: activate the build, copying it to another slot, changing the things within the build, renaming it, changing the icon, and other such things.

Now, what would be stored in the build?

At the least, abilities, but possibly also your armor, weapon, and trinkets. This way it would be very very very easy to change to different builds, but this might bring some unwanted issues. Your inventory would stay the same regardless of build.

But why would you need a system like this?

Just makes things easy, simple and fast. Generally in MMOs, you want to have many different builds for the many different things within the game. When doing dungeons or raids you want another build compared to PvP and another build for gathering resources or doing your professions. Now with you having 3-6 different builds per character, it would get really tiresome to constantly keep switching builds manually, especially if you'd have to remember what you had in the build. This would be even worse if there was a talent tree (not talking about the planned skill tree for picking abilities.)

There also could be a way to expand the number of slots, by either in-game money, in-game levels, or by real cash if the EULA allows it.

Anyways, that's it.

Would you have any suggestion on how this should behave with items (armor, weapon, etc)? Considering our inventory slot isn't very large due to our hotbar mechanics, I assume we will add some kind of safe storage mechanism somewhere along the line. How do you suggest these items are loaded (if at all) if they're not found in the direct player inventory (which I deem likely based on the nature of this suggestion)?

Great suggestion. Will write it down! I think it's a good idea for your Hotbar. So you don't have to reselect 10 skills every time you change your role in a dungeon raid.
Outside of the scope of your hotbar and the skills. Armour and items should be doable too, but that would probably be a lot cooler to implement it with Player Housing. So you can give an armour stand settings and if you right click, you swap all your things out. Does that sound nice?

Yes the plan was to have them be in a safe storage, either not taking any of your actual storage or maybe a specific area in your bank. But with Aekalix's thing...

I think implementing the item builds to armor stands would be a cool idea. This way you could have just a collection of armor sets in your house to flex with but you could also quickly switch to your favorite pieces. With this you could also maybe make enchantment tables the way to swap between the ability builds, and they could be found in major towns, located inside maybe mage towers or something cool. Then you could also get these ability switch tables into player housing.

I will mark this suggestion as approved since I think it will contribute to the game.
